On the third day of my wise up to waste week I wechent down to the re-cycle project In catherine street swansea behind the mill pub. This is a project which is lead by anthony he spends alot of time there working voluntary this is a project designed to help everyone in swansea get safe and environmentally friendly transport very cheap. people go and donate old or unwanted bikes to re-cycle and Anthony and many other volunteers fix them up and sell them off for cheap since the project started they have had over 300 bikes donated so anyone with any spare or un-wanted bikes take them down to the re-cycle project. This is a great project because it helps the less well off members of the community get free and easy tranport cheaply. Even if you are unhappy you can take the bike back to replace or ask the voluteer group to fix it for a very small sum.
following this I went down to penlan community church to visit the stalls and see what is going on. There were many people and stalls there ranging from people from the council giving out green bags. Also members of the local community giving advice on where to get good quality furniture at a small price. the other stalls were a stall from the local library giving out old free books. there were stalls from locally run organisations like a baby and young children care group and members from the go green organisation run from the environment centre, this stall was letting the people of swansea know about green projects going on throughout swansea like grow your own veg. As well as this there was a food stall giving away locally sourced food's. Finally there was a stall from the swansea environment centre itself giving out information about the real nappy campaign.
