Recycling - It's your Business
Whilst most people at home have got used to recycling their waste there are still businesses out there who do no recycling at all!
Recycling and minimising waste at work is vital for 3 important reasons:-
1. It is good for the environment for all the reasons that most of us now know about.
Wise up to Waste Week
What a great week. My team here in the office were shattered bu happy. They reached lots of people, handed out lots of information and cotton shopping bags and had some fun on the way.
Thanks to all who took part, attended events etc.
Here's to WUTWW 2011.
Kitchen Waste Collections - update
Deliveries have started for the expansion of the kitchen waste collection service. Bins for kitchen waste and bags for garden waste will be going out over the next 4 months so that the rest of the county can take part. The kitchen waste will be collected every week on the same day as refuse so no excuses not to take part.
Cardboard for recycling collected from kerbside......
Swansea council is now collecting large cardboard items and corrugated boxes from householders. Small items of card like cereal boxes can go into green bags with the paper and larger items can now be flat packed and tied and placed next to the recycling bags for collection. There is no need to worry about the material getting wet.
Recycle and reduce business costs.........
Swansea Council offers a range of recycling services to businesses. Reduce your carbon footprint and your waste disposal costs by reducing the waste your business produces.
Kitchen and garden waste collections to expand......
Swansea Council is to expand its kitchen and garden waste collection service to most of the rest of the county starting in February next year. By April the roll out will be complete. The best news is that the kitchen waste collection part will be a weekly service. So no more smelly bins hanging about for a fortnight. Garden waste will continue to be collected fortnightly.
